IKEA Busa Play Tunnel & Cirkustalt Circus Tent

I have been wanting to snag the play tunnel and circus tent at IKEA for some time. However, I somehow just didn't. Last weekend, we decided to get it.  The first two wire baskets housing the tents were empty. And then hubs found another basket elsewhere with only two tents left! Yay!

IKEA Circus Tent @ RM49.90

IKEA Play Tunnel @ RM49.90

My kids love these... I keep the tent downstairs as there is already a castle tent in the bedroom upstairs... Too many tents, perhaps?

IKEA Poang Children's Armchair

As soon as the IKEA 2014 catalogue was out I downloaded the app. And when I went to visit my mom last weekend, she had safely kept the catalogue for me. One of the things that caught my eye was the Poang Children's Armchair. Exactly like its adult counterpart but on a smaller scale, this armchair was too cute to resist. I showed hubs the armchair in the catalogue and left it at that. Little did I know that he liked it too! Yippee!! So when we went to IKEA and hubs was looking for the armchair I was ecstatic. Crazy mom shopping mode on! *Grin

We didn't find any on display, either because there weren't any on display (which I doubt) or because of the crowd! IKEA was packed..I mean more than usual anyway. My kids love to stand in front of the TV and it drives us sick with worry for their eyesight and hearing. We were hoping that by buying this armchair, they would be encouraged to give the habit up.

Cute right? Hubs assembled it in a jiffy. I was the handy helper who put the cover on! Haha.. Last year's price was RM139. Now it's RM89...

I Absolutely Love IKEA

Just like so many others I have been eagerly waiting for the 2013 IKEA catalogue and when it came I was uber excited! As I am in Sandakan now, I have to rely on the online catalogue. So for those of you who love IKEA but can't get your hands on a copy of the 328 pages 2013 catalogue, do not fret my friends. Just click HERE.

You can also access the catalogue through your tablet or smartphone by going HERE. Just follow the instructions to download the app. All prices are valid until 31 July 2013.

What I love about IKEA is that they don't just sell you the product. They sell you the idea, the concept and the possibilities. They give you hope that any kind of room is possible, any type of space is decoratable (is that even a word, I doubt it) and they do it will style and flair.

Another note worthy aspect is that they think of everything. A place for kids to play and don't get me started on their food. You can go karayzee shopping at IKEA cos you want it all. Plus, you even have assembly, delivery and sewing services! Duh right, who doesn't know all this but this post is mainly for the links : ) and to rave about IKEA...

I shall be moving to a new place soon and can't wait to get back and visit IKEA! Photos courtesy of IKEA the swedish wonderland...

Blast from the Past: Ep 3

Episode 3: When Is Enough Enough?
Soon Cupcake will be reaching her 6 month marker after which she should be starting on solids. Being an avid reader, I just can't seem to get my hands (and eyes, of course) on enough materials to read on this subject. What should I give her and how should I make it? I know they may seem like pretty simple questions when you put it that way but I feel it's a big step in her life and mine, too. Therefore, no matter how much I read it still feels insufficient. I still keep reading about sleep routines and bath time when in fact most of the information is already embedded in my mind. Nevertheless, a mother's quest, and definitely a father's too, of what is the best that they can provide for their child is never ending. I've been scouting around for the best highchair that is safe and suitable and wallet friendly. After much thought, we decided on a highchair from IKEA in Damansara. The model we chose, as you can see in the photo, is ANTILOP. It comes with a safety belt and cost RM49. To make it more comfy, you can purchase a BARNSLIG supporting cushion that comes in a somewhat funky design which is RM29.90. The ANTILOP highchair tray cost RM15 and comes in only one colour; white. It's safe, sturdy and easy to clean. (Prices are as quoted on 18/02/2012 although we bought ours in 2010) why? because I can't remember how much we paid : )
